Course Requirements

Turner Access Training Courses - Delegate Information

Food and Refreshments
Tea/Coffee shall be available during courses held on our premises with a buffet lunch being provided on all courses of a day or more in duration.

Safety Clothing & Equipment
There is a practical element to many of our courses, therefore, please ensure all delegates attending are suitably equipped with high visibility, working gloves, hard hat and safety footwear where appropriate.

Health & Fitness
To ensure safe working at height and in accordance with appropriate regulations, all delegates participating in any work at height activity should be physically fit and free from any disability that may prevent them from working safely at a height (BS 8437:2005).

Contra-indications include:

  • Heart disease/chest pain
  • High blood pressure
  • Epilepsy, fits, blackouts
  • Fear of heights/vertigo
  • Giddiness/difficulty with balance
  • Impaired limb function
  • Uncorrected visual impairment
  • Alcohol or Drug dependence
    Psychiatric illness
     

All delegates attending the course shall be required to conform by signature that they have read and fully understood the information details above on diseases, physical and mental conditions that may pose a risk to them working at height (BS8454:2006).

Any delegate that may have any medical condition that may affect their ability to work at height should make Turner Access Ltd aware of this, in advance.  Delegates may be required to provide documented evidence that they have been screened as suitable for work at height (medical questionnaire, medical examination).

Turner Access Ltd and its instructors reserve the right to exclude any trainee from training at any trainee from training at any stage of the course if they have concerns regarding the trainee’s health and/or fitness.

All training courses start at 8.45am prompt (registration 8.30am) unless otherwise stated.  Delegates arriving after 9.00 am will not be permitted to attend the course.
